COOPA: Bootlegs!

Finally I've decided to make my bootlegs and put them up onto the blog for the fans to grab!!

Here's a short bio (Edited by A. Devi Shakya)


Cameron started his musical finesse at the age of seven, playing brass instruments and piano. Through his early music years as a teenager, Cameron was in and out of various rock bands, playing at high-school competitions, gigs throughout Sydney and even getting as far as getting a Sony/BMI contract and supporting Grinspoon at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sydney. His well educated status as a guitarist/pianist has given him a great advantage to move towards the dance scene and to use his knowledge to create great versatile sets and productions, branching well out from house music and mixing in a range of Electro-House, Tech House, Progressive House and even Trance, no set lacks substance when COOPA gets to hold the floor. His motivational goal, to get the crowd to feel the exact emotions running through him, which is what, makes COOPA such a quick successor in the music industry.

Currently studying at Australia’s premium university for music, The Australian Institute of Music, Cameron’s education includes the most accredited and fundamental techniques of Composition and Music Production, with Film/TV Producer Greg White, Scott Saunders, and Hip-Hop DJ Sensation Nick Toff. He has already started bringing out near-polished remixes and his original productions are on their way.

His current monthly mixes; COOPA: Sessions has been a fantastic success, running for over two years, has produced creditable feedback from American DJ Darryl Von Rokk, US Radio website InSoulWeTrust, Blog website engine Hype-M, and several of Australian Djs/Producers.

Now for those of you, who bought themselves a ticket for We Love Sounds Festival for 2009, are going to be extremely lucky to be able to witness one of the biggest headliners in dance music history, and to be lucky for a whole five hour set... I give you Armin Van Buuren.
Armin van Buuren has been named number one in the prestigious DJ Top 100 poll twice in a row, in 2007 and 2008 - voted for by over 350,000 people across the world, an indication of his prolific output over the 10 years he’s been dj’ing and producing. Being the official World’s Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music.

“I loved dance music immediately, but it’s not just love for music, it’s my passion. It goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it’s about a way of living. Music is essential to my life”.

Now for the listeners out there who are into this uplifting genre, then I have a special treat for you. I was going through all of Armin’s A State of Trance (radio broadcasting show he puts on every week, to around 70 different countries, blasting out a two hour set! And I believe he is now up to show #406!) Coopa @ Kink

Alrighty then Coopa fans, u missed it. Jees, he played his first ever club gig, and you weren't there. It's OK, don't beat yourselves up about it because I'm here to review it and share with you all my pictures from the momentous occasion.

Aside from the fact that Kinks system in the back room was less then honorable, with deck no2. not working, the mixer's knobs falling apart, the speakers being shit, the fall back and the headphones being delayed, our boy did extremely well. Thanks to the Cube being booked out for a private 21's party, 10 minutes past 10pm, the time Coopa started spinning, the crowd were jumping around like mad, hanging on his every twist. It was amazing to see such a stellar reaction to such a stellar DJ's debut. So, without further delay, here are the images.

'Thanks to all who were able to come down to have a dance and to show their support. Im extremely greatful and I hope to see you all again on the 12th June at Candy's Apartment. Thankyou once again...'

Coopa joins in on the show...

Hey all,

Daniel and I have decided to join forces and combine our blogs to create a hybrid of photography and music. With his photo layouts of big nights and celebrations ahead, and my monthly sessions and exclusive top 5 monthly songs, I believe this blogspot will be better than ever!!!

The main reason behind this coming together is because we are now launching a new club night called 'Twisted' at Cake Sydney in Double Bay. Stay tuned for a more official post on Twisted, but for now, stay tuned for my March 2009 Session, which will be coming soon...
