Hardsoul; Fierce Ruling Diva: Self Religion (Believe In Me)

Its time for a classic!! (A 2007 Classic that is!)

One of the stand-out tracks from Hardsoul’s forthcoming D-Fused & Digital compilation, ‘Self Religion (Believe In Me)’ further demonstrates the Dutch Duo’s talents extend well beyond the DJ booth and threatens to be as big as the rest of their back catalogue. Mark Knight’s mix take’s the package techy and delivers a mix that’s bound to get abused in those late night sets. Mr Penn does the business with his trademark keys, ripping it apart with that classic House sound we’ve come to know and love. This is a classic battle weapon for the dance floor; get on it!!

Enjoy!!

Defected Records continues to celebrate its 10 years In The House with the release of ‘Defected Clubland Adventures Volume 2’ featuring both upfront and classic releases by the world’s biggest and best known international house producers.

Defected Records is the British independent dance music label that has regularly surpassed the majors with its releases and this year it celebrates its tenth birthday. In that time there have been some unforgettable moments such as hitting No.1 in the UK with Roger Sanchez’s 'Another Chance', or the time that Kings of Tomorrow 'Finally' was first played on a dance floor by Sandy Rivera at The Ministry of Sound.

Defected’s early discography reads like a roll call of all the most prolific producers from the late 90's and 00’s. As a label it quickly stamped its signature sound on club culture and developed some of today’s best known producers and DJs. Junior Jack, Bob Sinclar, Sandy Rivera and Masters At Work all grew with the label from the start and helped forge the distinctive soul, funk and disco flavoured groove that was to be later nicknamed the ‘Defected’ global house sound.

Celebrating this landmark the label’s biggest musical moments have been brought together in two commemorative collections with Volume 2 offering a further 46 original and remixed classics from the past decade including tracks by Dennis Ferrer, Sandy Rivera, Soul Central, ATFC, Chocolate Puma and Julien Jabre amongst many others, as well as three bonus mixes from label head and Defected Records founder, Simon Dunmore.

If you’re a dance music lover this album is simply unmissable.

Funkagenda: Breakwater

If you haven’t heard of Funkagenda by now then where have you been hiding?
Over the last 3 years, he has become a name synonymous with quality house music. Already having featured on labels as prominent as Toolroom, Positiva, Defected, Azuli, Ministry of Soud, Size, Big Love and Subliminal, his production and remix skills are highly sought after worldwide.

And production is not the only string in his bow... His DJ talents are also a permanent fixture in clubs around the globe, with 2008 seeing him travelling to America, Canada, Rusia, South America, Romania, Poland, Spain, France, Israel, Serbia, Greece and many more in this year to come!

"Funkagenda is an outstanding talent, his sets can go from light and funky to dark and dirty in a seamless way that few Djs can pull off. Maybe its due to the fact that 50% of the records he plays are his own productions, which are without a doubt up there with the best! If asked to quote a name to watch for the future, Funkagenda is the first we think of..."
- Trophy Twins

Always re-editing and remixing tracks into his own style, his sets have a unique sound and began to catch the ears of many promoters around him, add to this the fact that his tracks are the flavour of the moment its no wonder he won best newcomer and best tune of the summer at this years Ibiza DJ Awards.
Currently enjoying huge support from the likes of Mark Knight, Pete Tong, Axwell, Dirty South, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and even Armin Van Buuren! Funkagenda is name is a driving force in house music today...
